FEAST
Despite lockdowns, FEAST successfully launched in the ACT and Victoria! To keep teachers and students engaged whilst home schooling, the team offered an online program and special events. The highlight was 350 schools tuning in for an informative school webinar hosted by Ronni as part of National Science Week!

Before students completed FEAST, they could not see how they could take climate action beyond switching off the lights at home. Now they are all waste warriors brimming with ideas to fight food waste!

NEST
COVID restrictions meant face-to-face NEST sessions were put on hold in NSW, Victoria and ACT. The team adapted to online presentations and grew the NEST Facebook group to share recipe ideas and tips. Their nutritional knowledge and skills were utilised to support food relief, advising on both cooked meals and Kids Hampers. NEST education materials have been translated into ten languages, providing a breakthrough for many participants with English as a second language. And a youth pilot program is underway – watch this space!

A lovely lady had come along to all the NEST sessions, but rarely joined the conversations. When I shared the translated resources in Arabic, her eyes lit up! All the content she’d learnt fell into place, she was so happy and grateful.

NOURISH
There was plenty of action for semester 1 with graduation ceremonies in all three locations, including Nourish Newcastle’s first cohort of students. The impact of COVID lockdowns in NSW sadly meant semester 2 classes in Sydney and Newcastle were put on hold. Nourish Adelaide successfully delivered both semesters with a total of 19 graduates!
The level of care from the Nourish team, combined with new found skills, often provide life-changing transformation for many students who continue to stay in touch years after graduating.

Since joining Nourish, my son has just opened up and started enjoying life again. He bonded with the whole team, and it brings tears to my eyes seeing the changes in him.
